CMS Development for Websites You Can Edit Yourself

Content management systems built so your team can update the site without a developer

A website you can update yourself

Nobody should need a developer to change a phone number or add a job vacancy, yet plenty of businesses are stuck doing exactly that — emailing the change across and waiting days for a one-line edit. A content management system (CMS) hands that control back to you. Whoooop Ltd builds editable websites for businesses that want to post news, swap out images and add pages themselves, without raising a request every time.

We've worked in full-stack development for over 15 years, and most of that work ends up in someone else's hands once it's live. The aim is a site your team can actually run, not one that only its builder understands.

How we build content management systems

Headless CMS

A content API behind the scenes with a clean editing screen on top, and the front end built in React or your existing stack. Suits you when you want fast pages and content that can also feed an app or a second site.

Editable areas in bespoke builds

When a web application needs parts you can change — landing pages, help articles, product copy — we make those editable and leave the rest fixed, so nothing important gets moved by accident.

Structured content, not a blank canvas

Templates and defined fields, so a new page comes out on-brand. Your team fills in the gaps; the layout and styling hold together on their own.

Moving off a CMS you've outgrown

Migrating content and URLs from a dated or sluggish system onto something quicker, keeping your existing pages and search rankings in place rather than starting from zero.

Roles and permissions

Separate access for editors, authors and admins, so people can change what they're responsible for and can't trip over anything they shouldn't touch.

Training and handover

We walk your team through it and leave written notes, so the site doesn't depend on one person remembering how a particular page gets updated.

Headless or traditional — which suits you

A traditional CMS keeps the editing and the page templates together in one place, which is straightforward for a marketing site that one team looks after. A headless setup splits the two: content lives in its own store and gets pulled in by whatever needs it, which pays off when the same content has to appear in more than one place, or when you want the front end built with a modern framework for speed. We'll talk through how your business works and recommend the simpler of the two that still does the job — there's no point running a complex setup for a five-page site.

When a CMS isn't the answer

If you only touch the site once or twice a year, a full CMS can be more upkeep than it saves — a straightforward build with the odd change from us during ongoing maintenance and support may cost less to run. And if the real trouble is that the whole thing looks dated or loads slowly, bolting editing onto a tired site won't fix that; a proper redesign is usually better value. We'll tell you which camp you're in before you spend anything.

Why work with Whoooop on a CMS

  • 15+ years of full-stack development — React, Node.js, TypeScript and serverless
  • We build the editing experience around your team, not around the software's defaults
  • Content modelled so pages stay consistent without you policing every edit
  • Performance and accessibility built in, so an editable site stays a fast one
  • We support the site after launch rather than handing it over and going quiet

A CMS often sits alongside other work — if you also need custom screens, dashboards or internal tools, see our bespoke web application development, or read about our wider web development work for the full picture.
