Bespoke Web Application Development
Custom web apps built around how your business actually works — internal tools, portals and dashboards, not an off-the-shelf template
When a website isn't enough
A brochure site tells people what you do. A web application does the work: it logs in users, holds their data, runs calculations, talks to other systems and keeps state between visits. Whoooop Ltd builds that second kind. We've spent 15+ years in full-stack development, so when a spreadsheet has grown into something nobody dares touch, or an off-the-shelf package fits everything except the one thing your business is actually built on, that's the gap we fill.
What we build
Internal tools
The admin screens, schedulers and back-office apps your team uses all day. Built around your process rather than forcing the process to bend round the software.
Customer portals
A logged-in area where customers check orders, manage accounts, raise tickets or download what they've paid for — without emailing you to do it for them.
Dashboards and reporting
Pulling numbers out of the systems you already run and putting them on one screen, so a decision doesn't wait on someone exporting three CSVs first.
APIs and integrations
REST or GraphQL APIs, and the connective work that gets your separate systems passing data to each other instead of being re-keyed by hand.
The stack we work in
Front end is TypeScript with React, Angular or Vue, depending on what the job and your team suit best. Behind it sits Node.js — and Python where it earns its place — over PostgreSQL or MongoDB. We host on AWS, often serverless with Lambda, SQS and DynamoDB, so you pay for what the app actually uses and it scales when demand does. None of that is the point on its own; it's the toolkit that lets us build something maintainable that someone else can pick up later.
How a build runs
We start by getting clear on what the app has to do and, just as usefully, what it doesn't. Scope that's honest up front saves the budget that vague projects quietly burn. From there we build in slices you can see and use, so you're steering with something real in front of you rather than signing off a document and hoping. Testing goes in as we go — Jest and Vitest — because a web app people rely on can't fall over quietly.
After it's live
An application is never quite finished the day it launches. Things break, requirements shift, libraries need patching for security. We stay on to support what we've built — fixing, extending and keeping it current — rather than handing over a codebase and wishing you luck.
Why Whoooop
- 15+ years of full-stack development, not a first attempt at a complex build
- Specialists in TypeScript, React, Node.js and AWS serverless architecture
- Experience with high-traffic, high-load systems that have to stay up
- Code written to be handed on and maintained, not just to demo well once
- We support the app after launch instead of disappearing at go-live
If what you need is closer to a shop than an application, our e-commerce web development page covers that side; for general local builds, see web development in Stoke-on-Trent.
