Website Redesign and Rebuild
Replacing a tired, slow or dated website with one that earns its place
When a redesign is the right call
A redesign isn't the same as patching the site you've got. Whoooop Ltd does both, and the honest answer isn't always "rebuild it" — sometimes a few fixes will do. But there's a point where a site has drifted too far from what the business needs, and propping it up costs more than starting again. If your site was built years ago and nobody's really touched it since, that point may have arrived. We've worked in full-stack development for over 15 years, so we can tell you which side of the line you're on before you spend anything.
Signs it's time
It looks its age
Design trends move on, and a site that looked fine in 2016 now quietly tells visitors the business might be a bit behind too. First impressions are made in seconds.
It's awkward on a phone
Most of your visitors are on a handset. If they're pinching to zoom, hunting for the menu or giving up on a form, you're losing enquiries you never hear about.
It's slow
Heavy pages, bloated plugins and unoptimised images add up. People leave before a slow page finishes loading, and search engines notice the speed too.
You can't update it yourself
If changing a price or adding a page means emailing a developer and waiting, the site has stopped being a tool and started being a bottleneck.
What a rebuild actually changes
The look is the part everyone notices, but it's rarely the part that matters most. We treat a redesign as a chance to fix what's underneath at the same time: the structure of the pages, how quickly they load, how the site reads on a small screen, and whether you can edit it without calling anyone. We build with TypeScript, React and Node.js on modern hosting, so what you end up with is quick, maintainable and yours to run. Where it makes sense we'll carry the good parts of your existing site straight across rather than redoing work that was fine to begin with.
Keeping the rankings you've already earned
This is the bit a lot of redesigns get wrong. If your old pages rank for searches that bring you work, a careless rebuild can throw that away overnight — new URLs, broken links, and a few months of lost traffic while everything resettles. We map the old addresses to the new ones, put redirects in place, and keep the page structure and content search engines already trust. The site comes out faster and better looking without starting from zero in the results. There's more on the technical groundwork on our web development page.
How the project runs
We start by looking at what you have and what it's meant to do — what's bringing in enquiries, what's dead weight, and what's missing. From there we agree a structure and a design, build it, and move the content across. You see it on a staging site and have your say before anything goes live. Once it's launched we don't vanish: if you'd rather hand the upkeep to someone, our website maintenance and support page covers keeping it patched and current after the redesign.
