Web Development in Runcorn, Cheshire
Websites and web applications for businesses across Runcorn's New Town estates, the old town by the river and the villages around it
Web development for Runcorn businesses
Whoooop Ltd builds and looks after websites for businesses in Runcorn and the area around it. Runcorn is a big town to work in but a scattered one: the old town sits down by the Mersey, while most people live out across the New Town estates — Castlefields, Halton Brook, Murdishaw, Palacefields and the rest — designated and built out from the 1960s. There's no single high street that everyone passes, so a local firm is found less by footfall and more by whoever turns up first when someone nearby reaches for their phone. That is mostly what a website is for. We've worked in full-stack development for over 15 years, on new builds and on taking over sites that have quietly stopped pulling their weight.
What we build
A site that does a day's work
A quick, clear site that says what you do and makes the next step obvious — a call, a quote, a booking — so someone weighing up two or three local firms gets in touch with yours instead of scrolling past.
Selling beyond Runcorn
An online shop sells to people who'll never drive over the bridge to find you — Shopify where it fits the job, a bespoke build when your stock or pricing won't sit in a template. There's more on our e-commerce web development page.
Custom tools, not just pages
If your work runs on bookings, accounts, quotes or stock that a brochure site can't touch, we build the web application behind it. That's much of what we do — see web application development.
Looking after a site you've inherited
If whoever built your site has long since moved on and you'd rather not prod at it yourself, we can take it over, fix what's broken and keep it current — see website maintenance.
A well-connected town that reads on a phone
Runcorn is easy to reach and easy to leave, which shapes how people use your site. The Mersey Gateway and the older Silver Jubilee Bridge cross to Widnes, junctions 11 and 12 of the M56 are minutes away, and the West Coast Main Line runs fast trains from Runcorn station to Liverpool, Crewe and London. Plenty of your visitors will be reading on a phone between other things, so a page has to load quickly and behave on a small screen, not just look right on a desktop. We build in TypeScript, React and Node.js on modern hosting and test on real phones; if an existing site is slow, our website speed optimisation page covers what we do about it. Most of the work runs over email and the odd call, and we'll come out to meet when it genuinely helps.
Showing up when people search
A site only earns its place if the people looking for what you do can find it. We handle the technical and on-page side — a sensible structure, quick loading and the markup search engines rely on — so you've a fair shot at a nearby search rather than being buried under the big chains. If that's the part you're weighing up, there's a dedicated SEO services page that goes into it.
Where we work
We work with businesses across Runcorn and the area around it — Widnes just over the water, the science and tech firms out at Sci-Tech Daresbury to the east, and the villages towards Preston Brook and Daresbury. Frodsham sits a short run south, where our web development in Frodsham page takes over; Warrington is east along the Mersey, covered by our web development in Warrington page; and Chester is a straight run west, on our web development in Chester page.
